Web site marketing promotion is one of the most critical things you can do online.  Without web site marketing promotion, your well-built web site will flounder online.  You simply must get traffic to your web site, and to get traffic to your web site, you must do some form of web site promotion. 

So what is my favorite form of web site marketing promotion? 

Article marketing is my favorite. 

Article marketing is, simply put, writing articles and submitting them to online directories for one of two purposes (or both):

1)  Writing many articles and submitting them to a few, high-traffic article directories online for the purpose of generating direct hits to your web site. 

2)  Writing a few articles and submitting them to many of the article directories online, regardless of traffic (you are just looking for massive numbers of backlinks to your web site with this method). 

So how do you use article marketing for web site marketing promotion?  Here are the steps: 

1)  Write articles related to your web site topic. 

2)  Add links to your article to your web site.  If you are employing strategy #2 above, be sure and use text anchor links for the links to your web site.

3)  Submit the articles to the various article directories online.  If you are employing strategy #1, submit to the top 5-10 article directories, in terms of traffic.  If you are employing strategy #2, submit to as many as possible – at last count, I believe there are over 500 in operation.
